Full Form of NCC || The Indian National Cadet Corps- A brief history
In 1948, under the guidance of Field Marshal K.M. Cariappa, who served as the first Army Chief to command the Indian National Army, the Indian National Cadet Corps (NCC) was established. Its primary purpose was to provide military training to the youth of the country, particularly students in schools and colleges. The NCC aimed to engage them in various sports and training activities while instilling a sense of patriotism.
After India gained independence from British colonial rule, the Indian Army underwent a transformation from the colonial Indian Army to the Indian Army. The existing officer’s corps was initially designed for the British Army, with no provision for the NCC. However, NCC cadets wear uniforms identical to those of the Army and have the opportunity to become part of the Army itself.
